(22)New Course, St Andrews

St Andrews New While somewhat in the shade of its more famous neighbour this course was built in 1895 and many argue is a better test of golf than the Old Course. Certainly your ability to use all your clubs will be well tested as you attempt to conquer this 6604 yard championship standard links course.

The course lies parallel to the Old Course and stray shots may have to be recovered from the Old Course itself. There are rolling, undulating fairways, fast and hidden greens, thick gorse and the ever-present testing wind.

This offers a different challenge to the Old Course but should be included in any golfing itinerary without question.
