Sometimes known a Balgownie Links this is a regular host of Championship golf. Easy walking is countered by sometimes stiff winds off the North Sea but the challenge of golf here has been met since 1780. Tight fairways are the norm and fierce rough, including gorse, await the wayward shot. Natural features such as the dunes are a feature while the bunkers are cleverly but fairly positioned.
Traditional old links located towards the north of the city of Aberdeen. This courses is set amongst great sand dunes and like the best links courses has evolved with time. The club was established in 1780 and the course in 1888. The course has the right trade off between long and short par 4's and testing par 3's. There are also two testing par 5's. Please note that the wind will play a big part in the negotiation of Balgownie Links. There are strategically positioned bunkers and plenty of gorse to avoid!
