(14)North Berwick

North Berwick These links have been golfed for at least 400 years and provide one of the hardest test of golf on the east coast of Scotland. A traditional links layout along a narrow stretch of coastline a westerly wind is the least of the golfers problems.

This is a championship links course. The many interesting hazards include the beach, light rough, walls intersecting fairways and streams crossing three of the fairways. Most interesting holes are the world famous 'Redan' and the 376-yard, par-4 14th 'Perfection'. 18 holes, 6,420 yards. Par 71 (SSS 71). Amateur record: Gordon Sherry 66. Pro record : Nick Job 64.

This is not to be missed if one is visiting East Lothian. Spectacular views of the Firth of Forth and the Bass Rock.
