This course received its Royal designation in 1891 and was founded in 1885. A popular course known for its design subtleties and the warm welcome that visitors receive. When you may think that you have the course licked you are faced with the dog-legged 18th and the temptation to go for the long carry over the "garden" from the tee, many have tried and many have regretted it.
