There are three courses here at Carnoustie. The most famous of them being the Championship Course that hosted the most memorable 1999 British Open. The other notable is the Burnside course that lies alongside the Championship course although it is not of the same length. One might be recommended to take advantage of a day ticket at the links.
The Championship course is par 72 and will test the skills of even the very best golfers. It is long and intimidating and when the wind blows across the Tay Estuary it becomes even tougher. One catches a glimpse of home on the 15th green only then to come face to face with three of the world's most challenging holes to finish. This is very much a "must play" course. It will be on the British Open rota for many years to come. Who can forget the finish here in 1999?
